As we begin the next chapter of the story of our church, Jesus’ example and exhortation offers a vital pattern for us to follow.
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
“It would cost half a year’s wages to feed all these people!” Philip quickly does the maths on their catering problem. But the miraculous meal that follows is more than a free lunch. It’s the basis of one of Jesus’ most outrageous claims ever!
